Education and Healthcare development


The health of children has been particularly affected; 94% of clients report that they were able to provide more nutritious meals for their families. On the community level, the overall percentage of malnourished children in Nong Cong district fell by nearly 50% between 2000 and 2003.

Tuition fees and other educational fees are a major expense for poor families, but program membership is helping clients provide educational opportunities to their children. 72% of clients report that their increased income has helped them pay tuition fees, which in turn has helped decrease dropout rates. Among clients, the percentage of children dropping out of primary school has fallen to less than 1%, while less than 10% of children drop out of secondary school.
