The opening ceremony of Thanh Hoa microfinance institution


In The 12th March 2015 morning, Thanh Hoa microfinance limited institution organizated the opening ceremony. This is an important event for Thanh Hoa microfinance and microfinance field in Vietnam.





Attended the opening ceremony were Mr Dao Quoc Tinh – Deputy chief inspector of  the agency's supervision State Bank of Vietnam, Mr Hoang Quoc Manh - Deputy Director for licensed non-bank institutions of the agency's supervision State Bank of Vietnam, Mr Eichi Sakachi – Financial expert of Asian development bank ADB, Mr Tran Thanh Ha – represent Save the children Vietnam, and The Mr, Mrs behalf of Government office, Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Vietnam, Cideal Spain project, Unilever Vietnam Foundation, Citibank Bank, Vietnam microfinance working group VMFWG.

From Thanh Hoa province, there are Mr Le Anh Tuan -   vice president of the People's Committees, Mr Nguyen Thanh An – director of Thanh Hoa branch of State bank Vietnam, Mrs Le Thi Nuong – Chairwoman of Thanh Hoa women union, and the Mr., Mrs. behalf of departments in the provinces government.

And delegates come from other provinces: Can Tho, Lao Cai, Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Ben Tre. Thanh Hoa television and Thanh Hoa newspaper also attended.












Thanh Hoa MFI was license No. 65 / 22.08.2014 QDGP-NHNN by State Bank Vietnam, allowing the establishment of microfinance institutions under the Credit Institutions Act 2010. Thanh Hoa MFI is the capital contribution by 3 organizations: Thanh Hoa fund for poor women capital contribution of 49%, Thanh Ha company 31% and 20% of NGV joint stock company. Accordingly, Thanh Hoa MFI will be made the capital raising operations: taking deposits in Vietnam dong, loans from credit institutions, financial institutions and individuals, organizations in the country and abroad in accordance with law. Thanh Hoa MFI credit granted by Vietnam dong. In addition, Thanh Hoa MFI also perform open account transactions, fiduciary, trustee loans, providing financial services related to microfinance field.

At the ceremony, Ms. Mai Thi Xuong - Chairwoman of the member Board Thanh Hoa MFI have opening remarks and introduced the video "History of Thanh Hoa Microfinance". This video tells of the process of establish and building organization, helping poor women confidently participate in loans to improve their lives and gradually escape from poverty. With a friendly, efficient approach, Thanh Hoa province MFI has expanded to 12 districts, 102 communes, supporting 17,000 households each year.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - deputy chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said: "Through the reports of Thanh Hoa fund for poor women, I was very impressed in the Fund's operations. From a charity project with 90 million funded capital and 300 members at the begin, after 17 years the program has become a official microfinance institution with nearly 20 thousand members and outstanding of over 100 billion VND. This result confirmed that this is a good model for the implementation of poverty alleviation local women. I appreciate the results that the Fund has been reached and we need research to refine this model to replicate in provinces"

Mr Hoang Quoc Manh - Deputy Director for licensed non-bank institutions of the agency's supervision State Bank of Vietnam spoke to congratulations on the success of the institution, he affirmed the capital of Thanh Hoa MFI helped the poor, low-income households in Thanh Hoa province. He is confident Thanh Hoa MFI will work effectively and be a model for state banks continue to consider converting some microfinance institutions in future.

Besides, the representative government offices, representatives Asian Development Bank ADB also appreciated the efforts of Thanh Hoa MFI in the process of formation and development, to become a reliable address of poor women in Thanh Hoa.
